Accessibility Statement
Accessibility statement
Our goal is to make our website accessible in accordance with the national regulations implementing the European Accessibility Directive (EU) Directive 2019/882.
This accessibility statement applies to bachersport.com
Current compliance with requirements
Our website already partially meets the requirements of Conformance Level AA of WCAG 2.2 and the European Standard EN 301 549. Full accessibility has not yet been achieved due to some exceptions and technical limitations.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:
a) Incompatibility with accessibility regulations
- Many images lack alt text, which violates 1.1.1 – Text alternatives.
- The Bacher Sport YouTube video on the homepage has no spoken content, only music. As it serves as a decorative element, it requires a note, which violates 1.2.1 – Audio or video content: Alternatives.
- The news box at header level has no heading, which is confusing. There are many H2 headings, but few H3 headings. In tables, the heading is read aloud only once, but not for the prices, which violates 1.3.1 – Info and relationships.
- Links in the text are only displayed in yellow, without additional visual identification, which does not meet 1.3.3 – Sensory characteristics and 1.4.1 – Use of colour.
- The desktop window cannot be optimally resized, which means 1.3.4 – Orientation does not meet the requirement.
- In the shop on the detail page, bindings are not visible for screen readers, which violates 1.3.5 – Identify input purpose.
- Yellow and grey have low contrast, which violates 1.4.3 – Contrast (minimum). However, this is provided by the accessibility widget.
- Text size and reflow are not optimal: there is a slight overflow, and navigation links are squashed or cut off, which violates 1.4.4 – Text size and 1.4.10 – Reflow.
- Buttons in orange are not compliant without the widget, which affects 1.4.11 – Non-text contrast.
- The low letter-spacing value cuts off the news box on the homepage, which affects 1.4.12 – Text spacing.
- Tabs are recognised as a group rather than a button, which violates 2.4.3 – Focus order and 4.1.2 – Name, role, value.
- Many links are empty or not meaningfully described, which does not meet 2.4.4 – Link purpose (in context).
- The widget provides various navigation methods, but not for the location burger menu on the right-hand side, which affects 2.4.5 – Multiple ways.
- In the shop contact form, labels are missing, and field labels are not clear, which means 2.4.6 – Headings and labels, 2.5.3 – Label in name and 3.3.2 – Labels or instructions are not met.
- The focus in the dropdown menu is not visible, and in the burger menu "Locations", the focus is also not clearly indicated, which violates 2.4.7 – Focus visible and 2.4.11 – Focus not obscured (minimum).
- There is no way to get support directly on all pages, which violates 3.2.6 – Consistent help.
- When submitting a form, a pop-up appears that is not recognised by the screen reader, which violates 3.3.8 – Accessible authentication (minimum).
We regularly review the accessibility of our website to address existing issues and ensure as accessible a user experience as possible. We are committed to continuously improving and implementing any necessary adjustments promptly to ensure barrier-free use.
b) Disproportionate burden
- For technical reasons, it is currently not possible to skip content blocks, which affects 2.4.1 – Bypass blocks.
c) The content is not covered by the applicable legal provisions
Some content on our website is not subject to legal accessibility requirements:
- Older documents: Content published before 28 June 2025 is exempt from legal requirements. Therefore, no comprehensive adjustments are currently planned for these documents.
- External content: Our website may include documents or content from third-party providers that we did not create, fund or control. We cannot make any statement about the accessibility of this content.
